I used to have a 1920x1200 monitor, they work well for to windows side by side. You always find yourself dragging the windows to half the page, or trying to remember to close the app in that position so it will open in that position.

About a yr ago i picked up the apple 30" display & the problem has been worse ever since and getting to the point of frustration.

Why cant i find an app that puts a button on your window that when you click it it zooms the half the width (or a third) of the monitor screen?. Is this such a crazy concept. Or a window that you can drag into invisible predefined areas of the screen. Iv seen a lot of incredibly amateur software but nothing close to legit.

There is all sorts of 'rollup, 'invisible', ghosting, magnify, etc etc

I was able to dig up group bar, which is ok, kind of a work in progress, that seems like it hasn't gone anywhere at least to the public since last year.

so theres my rant. i know should be grateful and many people would like to have this problem. but after years it gets frustrating.

ok encase any one else is looking for software to solve this problem. Apparently Mac has a software called expose, which is a huge help in managing open applications.

Which means there a a bunch of expose for the pc out there, Now its just a matter of finding the right one. im going to search the form for expose, if then i still am unsure ill ask in the forum.

I think part of using a comp is dragging stuff around, resizing, if i couldnt do it anymore i would probably have withdrawals.

ok so for anyone reading, youll see somtimes you get help other times you keep digging. Heres what i found out:

Why cant i find an app that puts a button on your window that when you click it it zooms the half the width (or a third) of the monitor screen?

WindowsFX by stardock has an option that allows you to do this using the resize button.
there are other options of course but this is the one thats most usful in my opinion for a monitor 1920x1200 or larger.

Another great app. in my opinion for managing or navigating through many open windows is "top desk" you can mouse 2 the corner of your screen and ll the open windows and applications will resize and appear on your screen, at this point you can select the one you want to access, or right click to quickly close each app. There of course are other features but this one i think is the most helpful.
