Just learned of Expose for the mac today, so im a lil behind. I was searching through the posts in the forums and kept coming to dead ends as to what people are using.

I was hoping people familiar with these softwares could drop a quick line as to what they are using, how long you've used it, when it was created, the history behind it, who the creator, OK just kidding, but apart from the desire to choke-out the computer anyone using any of these softwares? Any recommendations?

I've used WindowFX before, and its a great app. For a more Expose-like experience, I'd suggest TopDesk. I've reviewed that program in the past, and its definitely a well-designed app.

I had installed vairous of those programs and I usually tweak around with them and look in awe at them for about an hour.........until my curiosity is satisfied and I forget at them.

A couple of months later I do my usual "throw out the programs I don't need anyway"-sweep and they dissappear from my HD.

I guess it depends what you are used to and how important little flashy tweaks are for you. I usually just get annoyed by them, very fast. Furthermore, I am soooo used to use my taskbar or ALT-TAB to switch between thewindows, that I simply forget that there would be a flashier way to do it.

.....aahh, and Winplosion gave me a false-positive from Kasperksy (that was a while ago though, and I don't know wether Kaspersky fixed that).

Another vote for TopDesk. It does make working between lots of open windows easier. However, you could also try QTTabBar, which makes Windows Explorer behave like a tabbed browser.

I'm a longtime Avant user & like it's style of tab implementation & mouse gestures (much better than any firefox configuration I've tried) so I'm used to not using keyboard shortcuts very much.

I think I found a Expose type of program for Vista when it was in Beta. I'll try to find the link.

The app was called Winpose: http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=213468
But it doesn't work with the later Betas or RTM. I'm checking to see if there's an update somewhere or a spinoff.

Never mind the other events on the forum. It's not worth it.

Thank you guys for replying on such an old topic.

Well im always learning, i should of known being that the softwares been out for so long theres lots post already. ill post link to the biggest one i found if your interested.

But to save you time you'll want to use topdesk. The newest version is 4.2.1 but 5 should come out shortly. Im VERY pleased and amazed by the help it will be. However its not freeware, if your looking for a freeware, i didn't research that. Also if your switching to vista soon, save your money, as vista has this feature.

Heres the most accurate link i could find regarding Expose clones, there are a few hundred posts i think, they start from 2 yrs ago till 2 weeks ago, but this one like other current posts end with topdesk being the favorite.
